QuickSplit Data Protection Practices

Effective date: August 25, 2026

QuickSplit ("the App," "we," "us") is developed to help you split bills with friends and family. This Privacy Policy explains what information the App handles and how.

No account required

QuickSplit does not require you to create an account, sign in, or provide your name, email address, or any other personal identifier to use the App.

Information you enter into the App

When you use QuickSplit, you may enter:

  • Bill details: amounts, tips, currency, and an optional title (e.g. "Dinner at Nobu")
  • Names of the people you're splitting a bill with
  • An optional location tag for a bill (only if you choose to enable location for that bill — this is off by default and never entered automatically without your action)

This information is stored on your device and, if you are signed into iCloud, is synced privately to your own iCloud account via Apple's CloudKit private database. We do not operate our own servers that store your bill data, and we do not have access to it. Your data is never shared with other users of the App or with any third party.

Location data

If you choose to tag a bill with a location, QuickSplit uses your device's location services (with your explicit permission, requested via the standard iOS location prompt) to resolve a place name for that bill. Location data is stored only as part of that bill record, following the same private, on-device/iCloud-synced storage described above. QuickSplit never transmits your location to any advertising or analytics service.

Advertising

QuickSplit displays banner advertisements served by Google AdMob to support the free version of the App. Google AdMob may collect limited technical information (such as device type, general region, and app usage signals) as needed to serve and measure ads, in accordance with Google's own privacy practices. QuickSplit does not implement Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework, which means the App does not request permission to track you across other companies' apps or websites, and ads shown are not personalized using such cross-app tracking. You can learn more about Google's data practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy.

For users in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, QuickSplit displays a consent form before showing ads, as required by applicable law. You can review or change this choice at any time via Settings → Privacy Options.

If you'd prefer not to see ads, QuickSplit offers a one-time "Remove Ads Forever" in-app purchase.

In-app purchases

QuickSplit offers one optional purchase ("Remove Ads Forever") processed entirely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit). QuickSplit does not receive or store your payment card information — that is handled directly by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy.

What we don't collect

QuickSplit does not use any analytics or crash-reporting services, does not collect your contacts, does not require camera or photo library access, and does not build an advertising profile of you based on your bill data.

Data deletion

You can delete any bill directly within the App at any time. Deleting the App from your device removes its local data; if iCloud sync is enabled, you can also manage or delete QuickSplit's iCloud data via your device's Settings app under your Apple ID → iCloud → Manage Account Storage.

Children's privacy

QuickSplit is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date at the top of this page.
